The Rodeo is a real Allrounder. For the first time a paraglider, for really light pilots or female pilots with a body weight about 50 kg which would like to have once a paraglider with them with windy relations can fly with the other. Or as a strong windglider for pilots also with wind speeds of more than 40 km/h still want to fly. And not least as a Racer with the engine aviation. Our test have brought in the Paramotor a very good result. In the light version goes to scale to the rodeo just scarcely more than 3 kg. The high flight rest in spite of the low surface, make HIM just to the allrounder.

We test the RODEO very very hard. and we are quite happy with the result.
The certification will coming soon.

We have counted with the rodeo in our prize calculation hard. So that he is also affordable as a second wing.

Hier, mercredi 21 Avril, Philippe Sicardi et son passager ont réalisé un vol de 186 Kms avec le Tandem. Ils ont décollé de Marlens, ont tourné le St Eynard (Grenoble) puis le Parmelan (Annecy) avant de revenir poser à l'atterrissage officiel de Marlens 7 heures plus tard. Bravo Philippe !

C'est la troisième participation d'une FR5 Snake en compétition et aussi une troisième victoire.

Quelques fabricants écrivent des histoires et des histoires sur leur nouvelle aile de compétition.
La FR5 montre son potentiel sur le terrain.
On la voit pour la première fois au British Open et c'est sur la plus haute marche ! Elle s'illustrera ensuite au Brésil fin 2009.

Nous félicitons maintenant Clayton Alvarenga Resende pour sa victoire au "Campeonato SUL Brasileiro de Paragleider" en 2010.

Bruce Goldsmith a travaillé pendant presque 10 ans au sein de l'équipe de conception des ailes Airwave et quittera cette société à la fin de son contrat c'est à dire au printemps prochain. Les 10 dernières années ont été fructueuses pour Airwave et maintenant, Airwave et Bruce ont conjointement décidé "qu'il est temps de changer". Ces dernières années, Bruce a formé une équipe de jeunes concepteurs motivés qui se sont déjà pleinement investis dans la conception et les tests des ailes Airwave de la gamme actuelle. A la tête de cette équipe se trouve Mario Eder, qui a longtemps travaillé comme pilote test de grande marques et qui est aussi l'ancien directeur technique et responsable des pilotes tests de la "European Para Academy" (Laboratoire test officiel pour les homologations EN et LTF en Allemagne). Cette équipe sera désormais responsable de la conception des ailes à venir chez Airwave alors que Bruce rejoindra l'equipe Advance. Nous remercions Bruce pour son excellent travail et pour l'entente cordiale. Tout le team Airwave lui souhaite le meilleur pour la suite.

"High Performance Intermediate" EN-B, LTF class 1-2

We are happy to announce the SPORT-Competition which is the "tuned up" race version of the SPORT 4 with many performance enhancing features typically reserved for open class competition gliders.

The Sport Competition has improved high speed performance, and lighter handling, but you do not have to be a “hot shot” expert pilot to fly it as it retains its original EN-B and LTF 1-2 certification.

Rodeo - Airwave's special strong wind glider

Rodeo - that usually stands for turbulent rides on wild horses. Airwave designers around Bruce Goldsmith have well tamed their new speed glider Rodeo: a fascinating and unusual wing, that incorporates the characteristics of a speedflyer with those of a beginner's glider. The Rodeo is exceptionally fast with great performance and outstandingly safe. It was designed for pilots who love to soar on windy ridges and dunes as well as in alpine regions, feeling the performance and safety. The Rodeo is also perfect for playing in strong winds on the training hill. Other than most speedflyers of other manufacturers the concept of the Rodeo is not based on a low-performance parachute profile, but on the biconvex profile of a gentle LTF 1-2 glider. Last week Markus Villinger, the owner of Airwave, went on a flying holiday to Namibia with the legendary Austrian pilot Andre Bucher. Markus went to experience the amazing dune flying of the Namib Dessert where the sandy white dunes rise to over 300m.
When you own a paragliding company with a range ofover 40 or so gliders which glider do you chose to take with you? Markus chose the Alpine – Airwave’s mountain wing.
At just 3kg the Alpine is small and light enough to take in your hand baggage, and makes a perfect wing for travelling to far flung locations.
In the Namib Dessert the Alpine proved to be the perfect wing with an amazing ability to rise smoothly overhead even in strong gusty conditions.

Nicole Fedele sweeps her old record by 30%

\\\"On 19. August 2009 I was in Sorica (SLO) and my target was to improve on my previous female world record (129,4 km on 19. July 2009) so I planned to complete a 164 km out and return flight from Sorica to Piombada (a mountain located about 15 km west of Gemona) and back. I took off just some minutes after 10 was with the very first pilots. Conditions were good especially in the second part of the flight and I had no problem to complete my pre-arranged route. When I arrived in Sorica I decided to fly some kilometers further and then back again to Sorica landing place while my friend Marco was walking to the take-off to pick up our car. After 8 hours in the air and a fabulous 175 km flight I landed: my friends were already there waiting for me with a cool beer to drink to my success!!

Once again I could appreciate the great stability of my Airwave Magic 5 in every situation, enjoying its fantastic handling and superb performance.

Austrian Airline Captain Raimund Pregler tests the Sport 4

Finally I got a chance to test fly the Sport 4. A friend towed me from Piusz Puzta up to 750 m. The first thing I realized was that the Sport 4 is nice and stable to fly on the winch. The next thing was that after tow release I found myself in pretty stable air and quite far away from the next small cumuls cloud - and that the countryside below was flat like a pancake. I made it under the cloud okay but the climb was real marginal in the beginning . Thanks god the Sport 4 is extremely easy to fly in thermals and climbs very well - I am sure this is what saved me from going down. After some time the climb got up to 2-3 meters per second lifting me up to cloud base. 1000 Meters over the Puszta of Hungary - GREAT - now travelled pretty fast and I flew over Sopron to Deutschkreuz which is already in Austria. Things looked good and I enjoyed the scene. However getting in the more hilly areas clouds started to over develope and I decided to go land for safety reasons. I only flew for about 2 hours but I could have flown much further on this nice and scenic afternoon \\\"test flight\\\" if high building TWC would not have been in my way - and I love the Sport 4 !

144 athlets participated in the Outdoortrophy 2009 in Paragliding, Mountainbiking, Kajaking and Mountain Running. Outdoor Pro´s call this event the unoficcial World Championship of Outdoor Sports !

Markus Prantl wins the Paragliding race on his AIRWAVE SPEEDMACHINE and helped his team - Robotunits - to get the over all victory. Congratulations !!

the outstanding performance of the Magic 5 is once more well proved.

Congratulations to Aleksandar Santrac who wins the international Bosnia Open 2009 with his Magic 5 - beating the international competition even on the latest Open Class gliders . His most outstanding flight was in the 3rd task - a race where Aleksandar came into goal 45 minutes before the second pilot on his open class Icepeak 3.

Congratulations to Nicole Fedele for her World Record flying a  Airwave Magic 5!
On the 19th July Nicole established a new World Out and Return record of 129.4km from Sorica, Slovenia to Gemona in Italy beating the old world record by around 30%.
Nicole had received her Magic 5 only a few days before. When asked what she thought about her Magic 5 she said ‘The Magic5 is cool, it´s really very stable even on full bar and the handling is a dream.’
Nicole flies a completely standard Magic 5 S with an all up weight of 80kg.

Le TANDEM homologué LTF 1-2

Ce parapente a une large plage d'afficheurs, à l'instar de sa fourchette de poids, ce qui en fait le biplace le plus souple d'utilisation du marché. Du fait de sa très grande course aux trims (positif et négatif), cette aile peut aussi bien voler très vite ou très lentement. Les essais d'homologation ont mesuré une vitesse max de 52 km/h au poids maxi de 220 kg, cela en catégorie LTF 1-2 même dans cette configuration. Aux basses vitesses aussi, le TANDEM est réellement surprenant de facilité.

Chargé à 130 kg et trimé à fond (ce qui est rare à l'usage), le biplace garde suffisamment de manoeuvrabilité pour rester en LTF 1-2. L'aile est plus légère que les biplaces Airwave précédents, avec seulement 8,6 kg. C'est, au décollage, le meilleur bi que nous ayons jamais fait. Le TANDEM est disponible en 3 couleurs.

La Magic 5 à présent complètement certifiée LTF 2-3 en S, M et L

La Magic 5 est désormais entièrement certifiée catégorie 2-3 en 3 tailles. Le 24 mai, un pilote local a décollé du Col de Bleine dans le Sud de la France ; sans l'aide d'aucun instrument -ni vario ni GPS- il s'est posé après 5 heures 30 de vol seulement 170 km plus loin, à Aussois en Vanoise.

Il résume: "encore 2 heures de vol et je pouvais atteindre le Mont Blanc, mais j'ai décidé d'arrêter à 17 heures à cause des turbulences (le vent de Sud n'est pas bon dans le Nord des Alpes !). La Magic 5 est plutôt aisée à contrôler en tangage. Sur mes premiers vols, j'ai remarqué la très bonne vitesse de cette aile, mais à présent j'utilise l'accélérateur aussi souvent que je faisais avec ma Magic 3... Cela veut dire simplement que la nouvelle Magic est aussi sûre que les précédentes, mais tellement meilleure en performance !"

Für Herren sind die Größen S, M, L, XL erhältlich und die Farben Burgundy, Apricot und Chocolate stehen zur Auswahl. Das neue Airwave Logo befindet sich auf dem Ärmel und im unteren Bereich des Rückens (siehe Foto Rückansicht Herrenshirt).

Der neue Quick-Pack Schnellpacksack macht das Schirmpacken zum Kinderspiel.

In weniger als 2 Minuten sind Schirm und auch Gurtzeug gut verpackt und es kann wieder losgehen Richtung Startplatz.

Im Gegensatz zu anderen Schnellpacksäcken lässt sich der Quick Pack auch noch bequem tragen. Zusammengepackt unterscheidet er sich im Packmaß nicht vom normalen Packsack und nimmt daher auch nicht mehr Platz ein.

KAR heisst unser neuer Rucksack der in Zusammenarbeit von Piloten und erfahrenen Bergsteigern speziell für die Anforderungen beim Paratrekking konstruiert wurde. Er besticht durch extrem guten Tragekomfort und vielen praktischen Details. Er ist einfach zu be- und entladen sowie klein komprimierbar zum Verstauen.

Der Magic 5 ist ein Hochleister zum Strecken- und Wettkampffliegen. Zugleich ist er die neueste Evolutionsstufe unseres Serienklasseflügels. Er wurde direkt aus dem Magic 4 sowie Weltmeisterschirm FR 3 heraus weiterentwickelt.
Die Integration dieser Technologien hat es uns erlaubt, die Streckung von 6,22 auf 6,4 zu erhöhen und zugleich die Sicherheit des Gerätes zu verbessern. Dabei ist er einfacher zu fliegen als der Magic 4 und schneidet durch Turbulenzen besser als alles was wir in dieser Klasse kennen.

Der Magic 5 ist schnell und kann in der Thermik aber auch sehr langsam geflogen werden. Gemessene Geschwindigkeiten während der Zulassungstests beim Magic 5 L bei im obersten Gewichtsbereich waren : Stall Geschwindigkeit = 26 km/h, Trimmgeschwindigkeit = 39 km/h, Höchstgeschwindigkeit = 58 km/h. Die neue EN Norm veröffentlicht nur den Geschwindigkeitsbereich. Der Magic 5 hat einen Geschwindigkeitsbereich von 32 km/h . bisher erreichte noch kein gestesteter Schirm die Marke von 30 km/h !!

Aber das Beste am Magic 5 ist das traumhaft schöne Handling besonders in der Thermik und seine Stabilität auch bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten

Wie sein Vorgänger ist der Magic 5 ein echter Dreiebenenschirm mit hochentwickeltem Leinenlayout um Widerstand zu verringern und die Gleitleistung zu erhöhen. Es werden durchwegs spezielle PU-beschichtete und farbige Microleinen verwendet . Diese Leinen
sind sehr UV- und abnutzungsbeständig und bieten einen perfekten Kompromiss zwischen Leistung und Robustheit.
Zulassung EN-D und LTF 2-3 in allen 3 Größen (S/M/L).

Um der enormen Nachfrage nach unserem neuen Intermediate SPORT 4 nachzukommen haben wir die Produktionskapazität nochmals erhöht. So bekommen wir jetzt zweimal wöchentlich eine grosse Anzahl von Neuschirmen. Die Lieferzeiten konnetn dadurch wieder auf ein niedrigeres Niveau gesenkt werden.

Wir waren uns bewusst, dass der SPORT 4 eine neue Klasse bei den Intermediates (1-2) ist, da er deutlich mehr Leistung bei höherer Sicherheit bietet.

Der Verkaufserfolg des SPORT 4 übertraf allerdings auch unsere Erwartungen. Obwohl unsere Produktionen voll arbeiten und wir auch so viel als möglich Sport 4 auf Lager produziert hatten, war dieses innerhalb kurzer Zeit ausverkauft und in wenigen Wochen waren wir sogar mit über 200 Bestellungen im Rückstand. Dadurch kam es kurzzeitig zu erhöhten Lieferzeiten und wir bitten dafür um Verständnis.
Inzwischen haben wir die Produktionskapazität noch einmal kräftig erhöht, sodass Lieferzeiten bald wieder im normalen Rahmen sein werden. Trotzdem empfehlen wir, Schirme so früh als möglich zu bestellen! Der Erfolg bestätigt das überlegene Konzept.

Es freut uns bekannt geben zu können, dass unser neuer Intermediate jetzt in allen Größen ( S / M / L / XL ) nach EN 926 und deutschem LTF 1-2 zugelassen ist.
Vergleichsflüge unabhängiger Piloten zeigten, dass der SPORT 4 der leistungsstärkste Schirm in seiner Klasse ist!

Am 16./17. Februar findet das erste Get-together in Kössen statt. Neben unserer neuesten Entwicklungen - dem Magic 5 und dem Magic FR 4 - sind auch alle anderen Gleitschirme und Wettkampfgurte zum Testen für euch bereit.

Das Ziel war einen wirklich besseren Klasse 1-2 Schirm zu bauen, und zwar in jeder Hinsicht mit besonderem Augenmerk auf: mehr Leistung, höhere Sicherheit und noch besseren Flugeigenschaften

Möglich war dies nur, indem man neue Wege beschritt und auch neueste Technologien die für den Wettkampfsport entwickelt wurden für diese Klasse hin optimierte. Zahlreiche Designdetails die einen ausgereizten Hochleister mit Streckung 8 fliegbar machen und solche die ihn zum 1. Platz in der Weltmeisterschaft verhalfen, konnten in überarbeiteter Konfiguration verwendet werden.

AIRWAVE beim Stubai Cup - 18. – 20. Jänner 2008
Zum ersten Mal wird unser brandneuer Intermediate SPORT 4 (Klasse 1-2) vorgestellt und kann auch schon in der Größe M probegeflogen werden.
Ebenso dabei unser neuer Einsteigerschirm GECKO, die Bergsteigerschirme ALPINE und ALPINE Extreme, sowie unser neuer Acro Schirm SLINGSHOT.
Weiters werden Prototypen unserer neuen Hochleister, welche vom aktuellen Weltmeisterschirm weiterentwickelt wurden, zu sehen sein. Als Draufgabe haben wir noch unseren neuen Speedrider CARVE mit im Gepäck.
Selbstverständlich können auch alle unsere anderen Modelle getestet werden.
